ok - so that looks wonderful, as in, what;s not to like... but i just want to know one thing...

how much butta you gonna use?

i made it again saturday and used 8 T and really, i kinda liked it with the whole lb... is that crazy?

either way - so good. i used scharfenberger chocolate and that helps. no matter how you slice it it's close to a $15 cake if you use plugra, the best chocolate etc...

worth it

RecipeGirl: It turned out really well. Give it a shot.

Hélène: Thanks. You know, I've had pineapple upside-down cake, gingerbread, and even pumpkin cake, but never all in one.

Claudia: I have the Plugra waiting!!!! A brick of it.

This sounds decadent. I haven't made a regular pineapple upside down cake in a while. My paper published a recipe from Trisha Yearwood's cookbook and I laughed long, hard, and loud because...well, I think I was upset that she has a cookbook with this cake in it. I mean...I followed the recipe and made it, but it didn't taste any different or more special than my grandma's. Except grandma always made hers in the big cast iron skillet. :)

Wow that looks great - how funny that you baked right when you were telling me it is your wife who does the sweets in your house!

Looks so delicious. I know Martha Stewart has a recipe that is similar. But the ginger is a new but lightly spiced touch. Can't wait to try.

Now this is a tasty combination. I love the idea of combining Summer and Fall/Winter flavors :).

I'm generally a pumpkin purist, only wanting it in pies. But this lovely cake could change my mind, Donald. Nicely done!

Wow! What a great dessert. I love both gingerbread and pineapple. I'm definitely going to try this. If you interested in why you should buy organic pineapple, read this http://www.newrinkles.com/index.php/archive/did-you-know-pineapple/
